    Clasification Of Arrhythmic ECG Data Using Machine Learning Techniques

    In this paper we proposed a automated Artificial Neural Network (ANN) based classification system for cardiac arrhythmia using multi-channel ECG recordings. In this study, we are mainly interested in producing high confident arrhythmia classification results to be applicable in diagnostic decision support systems. Neural network model with back propagation algorithm is used to classify arrhythmia cases into normal and abnormal classes. Networks models are trained and tested for MIT-BIH arrhythmia. The differen structures of ANN have been trained by mixture of arrhythmic and non arrhythmic data patient. The classification performance is evaluated using measures; sensitivity, specificity, classification accuracy, mean squared error (MSE), receiver operating characteristics (ROC) and area under curve (AUC). Our experimental results gives 96.77% accuracy on MIT-BIH database and 96.21% on database prepared by including NSR database also

    An experimental study of a novel combination of a herbal drug with an allopathic drug to evaluate the antihyperglycemic effect of irbesartan plus curcumin and comparison with glibenclamide

    Background: Curcumin has been used as a traditional remedy for many diseases in Ayurveda. Many studies have proved antidiabetic and antihyperlipidimic effects of curcumin. The present study was conducted to evaluate antihyperglycemic actions of Irbesartan in combination with Curcumin.Methods: After baseline sampling, 18 rats of diabetic groups i.e. Group 1 to Group 3, were started with exclusive high fat diet and water ad libitum for next 4 weeks. At the end of 4 weeks, each rat was given Inj. Streptozotocin in a dose of 30 mg/kg body weight, dissolved in 0.2 ml of citrate buffer (pH 4.5) intraperitoneally. Drugs were given orally in normal saline by gastric gavage with the help of rat feeding cannula.Results: Rats of diabetic group 2, receiving combination of Irbesartan 20mg/kg and Curcumin 200mg/kg body weight for 6 weeks, have shown significant decrease is mean FPG level (FPG- 29.69% reduction, p<0.001). Irbesartan+Curcumin had no any hypoglycemic effect in normoglycemic rats as well as diabetic rats.Conclusions: Irbesartan in combination with Curcumin has significant antihyperglycemic effects. At the same time, Irbesartan combined with Curcumin, does not produce hypoglycemia in normal as well as diabetic rats

    A Practical Entity Linking System for Tables in Scientific Literature

    Entity linking is an important step towards constructing knowledge graphs that facilitate advanced question answering over scientific documents, including the retrieval of relevant information included in tables within these documents. This paper introduces a general-purpose system for linking entities to items in the Wikidata knowledge base. It describes how we adapt this system for linking domain-specific entities, especially for those entities embedded within tables drawn from COVID-19-related scientific literature. We describe the setup of an efficient offline instance of the system that enables our entity-linking approach to be more feasible in practice. As part of a broader approach to infer the semantic meaning of scientific tables, we leverage the structural and semantic characteristics of the tables to improve overall entity linking performance

    Biodegradation of Cellulosic Wastes and Deinking of Colored Paper with Isolated Novel Cellulolytic Bacteria

    Biofuels are the cheapest source of energy, and the continuous decline of traditional sources of energy with the increasing population leads to looking for alternatives to reduce the consumption of traditional sources of energy. Bioethanol production from lignocellulosic wastes and cellulosic wastes is not a new approach for fuel production but a cheap and accessible way for the production of fuel. Bacillus is one of the major species that can act as a source of diversified enzymes. In this study, it was emphasized on screening and isolation of a novel, characterization, and best catalytic action on both celluloses and proteins in the presence of different carbon and nitrogen sources. It was observed the effective catalytic breakdown of cellulose with the crude enzyme to glucose allowed fur for fermentation with Saccharomyces, ultimately leading to the generation of alcohol. The study aims to isolate the microbes that can produce cellulases and enzymes and could be used for biodegradation to produce ethanol in the reaction. The maximum enzyme activity was achieved at 3.112 UI with optimized pH and temperature, and the maximum conversion of sugars into alcohol was about 70% in the newspaper, cartons, colored paper, and disposable paper cups. An essential observation was the decolorization of the origami craft paper within 24 hours. The study was involved in enhancing the maximum Enzyme activity of cellulases from different cellulosic raw materials. Hence, it was achieved by JCB strain, optimization of pH, temperature, and acids for the biodegradation. The presence of peaks at 3200 and 2900 was a confirmation of ethanol bonds in the biodegradation reaction mixtures

    Molecular mechanisms of cell death: recommendations of the Nomenclature Committee on Cell Death 2018.

    Over the past decade, the Nomenclature Committee on Cell Death (NCCD) has formulated guidelines for the definition and interpretation of cell death from morphological, biochemical, and functional perspectives. Since the field continues to expand and novel mechanisms that orchestrate multiple cell death pathways are unveiled, we propose an updated classification of cell death subroutines focusing on mechanistic and essential (as opposed to correlative and dispensable) aspects of the process. As we provide molecularly oriented definitions of terms including intrinsic apoptosis, extrinsic apoptosis, mitochondrial permeability transition (MPT)-driven necrosis, necroptosis, ferroptosis, pyroptosis, parthanatos, entotic cell death, NETotic cell death, lysosome-dependent cell death, autophagy-dependent cell death, immunogenic cell death, cellular senescence, and mitotic catastrophe, we discuss the utility of neologisms that refer to highly specialized instances of these processes. The mission of the NCCD is to provide a widely accepted nomenclature on cell death in support of the continued development of the field

    Adsorption from Mixtures of Cationic/Non-Ionic Surfactants on to a Polystyrene Surface

    The adsorption of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) and nonyl phenyl ethoxylates (NP-n, where n = 13, 20 and 30) on to polystyrene powder has been studied. Concentrations of surfactant solutions ranging from below CMC to well above CMC were investigated. In a single surfactant system, only the cationic surfactant (CTAB) was found to adsorb appreciably while nonionic surfactants showed negligible adsorption. In mixed surfactant systems, the cationic surfactant was found to induce significant co-adsorption of non-ionic surfactants. The increased adsorption of non-ionic surfactants has been attributed to the formation of non-ideal mixed hemimicelles due to intercomponent lateral interactions. However, non-ionic surfactants with longer hydrophilic chains did not form mixed hemimicelles with CTAB. In general, zeta potential measurements support the adsorption results

    Adsorption of Cationic Surfactants on Rutile

    The adsorption and zeta potential of two series of cationic surfactants, i.e. alkyltrimethylammonium bromide and alkylpyridinium chloride, on rutile have been studied. The two series varied only in their hydrocarbon chain length. The effect of chain length on the lateral two-dimensional aggregation phenomena of surfactant molecules on the rutile surface has been explained by evaluating various thermodynamic parameters such as the effective number of CH 2 groups removed from the aqueous environment on to the solid surface (dn/d In C), the mean cohesive energy per CH 2 group (Φ) and the average mean aggregation number of the hemimicelle (nhm). The value of the mean cohesive energy in the case of alkyltrimethylammonium bromide (0.599 kcal/mol) is in very good agreement with literature values. It supports hemimicellar formation

    Co-Adsorption of Mixed Cationic/Non-Ionic Surfactants on a Quartz Surface

    The co-adsorption of binary mixtures of tetradecyltrimethylammonium bromide (TTAB) and nonyl phenyl ethoxylates (NP-n series) from their aqueous solutions on to quartz has been studied. None of the ethoxylates adsorbed on to the quartz when alone, but considerable adsorption took place from the mixture with cationic TTAB. The adsorption of TTAB was increased in the presence of ethoxylates below its CMC due to chain–chain interaction between the cationic/non-ionic surfactants. FT-IR spectroscopic studies indicated that micelle-like aggregate structures formed on the quartz surface even below the CMC.
